DHI Hair Transplant

DHI Hair Transplant

What is DHI Hair Transplantation?

DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is a special technique used for hair transplantation. This method, unlike other traditional hair transplantation methods, is a procedure in which hair follicles are placed directly in the area to be transplanted.

DHI hair transplantation is generally considered a less invasive option with a faster recovery time. Additionally, placing the follicles directly in the area to be transplanted can ensure less damage to the follicles during hair transplantation. However, every patient is different and it is important to consult a specialist for the most suitable hair transplantation method.

How is DHI Hair Transplant Done?

DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is a special technique used for hair transplantation and refers to a procedure in which hair follicles are placed directly in the area to be transplanted. Here is how DHI hair transplantation is performed:

  • Determining the Donor Area : Hair follicles to be used for hair transplantation are generally taken from the donor area at the back or side of the head. These areas are generally areas that are not affected by hair loss and have healthy hair follicles.
  • Follicle Removal : In DHI hair transplantation, hair follicles are removed one by one. This procedure is usually done by the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method. Using microsurgical instruments, each follicle is precisely removed and then prepared for transplantation.
  • Preparation of the Special Pen : There is a special pen used in DHI hair transplantation, usually called Choi implanter. This pen combines the process of extracting, storing and transplanting hair follicles in one tool.
  • Follicle Placement : The extracted hair follicles are placed directly into the area to be transplanted using a special pen. The tip of the Choi implanter pen picks up each follicle and places it directly on the area to be transplanted. This ensures that the follicles are placed at the correct angle and depth.
  • Creating the Hairline : During the hair transplantation process, the shape and pattern of the hairline is carefully determined to obtain a natural appearance. Follicles are placed along this natural hairline.
  • Healing Process : After the hair transplantation procedure is completed, a healing process begins that usually lasts a few days. There may be symptoms such as crusting and redness in the procedure area, but this usually passes in a short time.

DHI hair transplantation is generally considered a less invasive option with a faster recovery time. Additionally, placing follicles directly in the area to be transplanted ensures less damage to the follicles during hair transplantation. However, every patient is different and it is important to consult a specialist for the most suitable hair transplantation method.

Who can undergo DHI Hair Transplantation?

DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) may be suitable for many people who experience hair loss and want to increase hair density or fill in areas of baldness. DHI hair transplantation may be preferred especially in the following cases:

  • Male Pattern Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia) : Androgenetic alopecia, the most common type of hair loss among men, usually results in baldness in the forehead and crown areas. DHI hair transplantation is often preferred for men experiencing this type of hair loss.
  • Female Pattern Hair Loss : Hair loss can also occur in women and usually occurs as a general thinning of the hair. DHI hair transplantation may be an option for women experiencing female pattern hair loss.
  • Hair Loss Caused by Injury or Burns : In case of hair loss caused by injury or burns, new hair can be transplanted to replace the lost hair with DHI hair transplantation.
  • Other Causes of Hair Loss : DHI hair transplantation can be a solution in cases of hair loss caused by different reasons such as hormonal changes, stress, disease or some medications.

DHI hair transplantation is known for its direct follicle transplantation, unlike other hair transplantation techniques. This method is generally considered a less invasive option with a faster recovery time. However, before the hair transplantation procedure, the person’s hair loss status and expectations should be evaluated by consulting a specialist.
